Medical Assistant

 PURPOSE

The Medical Assistant is responsible for managing an assigned set of research protocols to ensure efficiency and regulatory compliance of the protocol, attending clinic as needed. This position reports to the Site Director (or designee). Responsible for compilation, registration, and submission of data: monitors study compliance and maintains a system for effective data flow associated with research protocols. This position oversees and coordinates the execution of clinical trials including but not limited to, protocol procedures, monitoring follow up visits, overseeing regulatory and administrative details performed by study teams and study close out processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum Associate’s Degree; Minimum of 2 years of CRC experience;  Experience working in a health care setting, preferably in research.  Experience conducting vitals and EKGs, required.  Strong working knowledge of Clinical Research procedures and guidelines, required. Organizing and coordinating skills, teaching and facilitation skills, ability to assess training needs and objectives. Experience overseeing and coordinating the work of others.

Clinical Research Nurse

PURPOSE

The Clinical Research Nurse reporting to the Site Director or designee is responsible for a variety of specialized clinical research activities, ensures that established protocols are implemented, maintains protocol integrity, monitors participant’s status and safety, and plays a significant role in protocol execution and day to day patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Nursing license as RN or LVN

  • Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience involving direct patient care

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to facilitate a teamwork philosophy with a positive attitude

  • Inpatient clinical research experience preferred, but not required

Minimum Associate’s Degree; Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience  Exposures to a clinical setting.  Able to perform global nursing-related tasks including but not limited to vital signs, EKGs, CPR, and phlebotomy;  Inpatient clinical research experience preferred.  Good working knowledge of Clinical Research procedures and guidelines, required. Maintain required skills and training for continuous RN/LVN licensure and BLS/ ALS certification.
